Ultimate Reset: Week 2 Recap

Week 2 is O-V-E-R!!!! This week has been a little more difficult than week 1. I’m starting to get that “over it” feeling. It might be different if I were seeing the scale going down like some others have. It is a tad bit discouraging. But, I keep reminding myself that I’m doing this for much more than the number on the scale. I feel better and I know I’m taking care of my body. I’m developing a much better relationship with food and my body. I have completely kicked my sugar and caffeine addictions. And I have also lost 4 pounds. It doesn’t sound like much, but it’s a healthy weight loss. It also means that my body isn’t storing a bunch of excess waste and water! Since, the Ultimate Reset IS a cleanse I think that it’s important to note that not everyone will experience weight loss.

Here are some of my thoughts on the past week.

Things I’ve missed:

Eggs! There have been a few days that I just haven’t felt like cooking. Normally I would just make myself some scrambled eggs and be content with that. I’m really looking forward to having some eggs again!

Bread… I would do anything to have a piece of warm, crusty bread with some fresh butter. But, I know that when I do eventually add bread back in, it will be easier to moderate myself.

That amazing Week 1 sleep! I’m still sleeping well, but not that super hard, deep sleep from last week.

COFFEE!!! I just want some warm, rich coffee. I miss the ritual and the warmth. I don’t need the caffiene or sugar just black coffee would be fine.

Exercising. I’m really looking forward to jumping back into a program. I’m thinking 21 Day Fix and then 22 Minute Hard Corps.

Things I’ve loved:

That quinoa lentil pilaf is the bomb!! I was hesitant to try it, but I’m so glad I did!!

Eating fresh, simple food. It really sank in when I was eating breakfast this morning and saw two different food recalls on TV. I felt good not having to wonder what is in the food I’m putting into my body. It is definitely motivation to continue eating super clean whole foods.

The cheaper grocery bill this week! All I had to grab was fruits, veggies, and a few things for Steve. I hardly even ventured into the middle aisles.
