I’ve decided that it’s time to stop being such a lazy bum and get this booty back into shape! I’ve signed up to start a new round of the 21 Day Fix on Monday. But, I thought I needed to give myself a little head start and do the Beachbody 3 Day Refresh. Plus, my Beachbody coach decided to do it the same week!
The 3 Day Refresh is a non-fasting cleanse. It was designed to be a safe and effective way to break bad eating habits and give you a jumpstart on healthy habits. It’s a very simple and straighfoward program that is easy to follow. No crazy ingredients are required.
The cleanse kit consists of a daily Shakeology packet, two Vanilla Fresh shake packets and one Fiber Sweep packet. The handy booklet explains everything you’ll need to know. In addition to your provided supplements, you are allowed selections from a Fruit, Veggie and Healthy Fats list. The meal plan is laid out for you, but you are able to customize it with your list selections. There are also a handful of dinner recipes for you to choose from.
The great thing about this cleanse is that you aren’t required to drink some crazy elixir throughout the day or spend the entire three days in a gym. Light exercise is optional. Also, the program is 100% vegetarian-friendly. I think it might be vegan-friendly too if you opt for one of the vegan shakeology flavors.
This is the perfect program for anyone looking to kickstart a diet plan, break a plateau, or slim down for an upcoming event.
The Game Plan:
3 Day Refresh: July 7 – 9
Recovery mode: July 10 – 12
21 Day Fix: July 13 – August 3
The Meal Plan:
6:45: 8 oz filtered water
7:45: Vegan chocolate Shakeology w/ 1/2 banana, water and ice.
9:00: Green tea w/ 1/2 stevia packet
10:30: Fiber sweep w/ 1c water
12:30: Vanilla Fresh shake w/ 2/3c blackberries, 5 baby carrots, 2 T hummus.
12:30: 1 medium tomato, 2 T mashed avocado
4:30: Green tea w/ 1/2 stevia packet
6:30: Vanilla Fresh shake, Spinach salad (2c spinach, 1/2 tomato, 1/2 cucmuber, 1/4c broccoli sprouts, balsamic & evoo)
- I had a slight headache throughout day (caffiene withdrawal).
- Felt pretty fatigued.
- No major hunger pangs.
- A little grumpy.
- Felt a little bloated and gassy.
- Did NOT like the blackberries blended into the Vanilla shake. YUCK!
- Drink the fiber sweep drink quickly so that it doesn’t get too thick.
- Went to bed early to keep myself from snacking.
